StudyProgrammes: – CELAK Vocational College study programmes major in Languages Tourism, Catering and Hotel management, Nursery teaching, business studies and Computer studies. The College offers National certificates and Diplomas Examinedby UBTEB, DIT, ECDTIA, CAB and Makerere University College of Education and External Studies.Degree programmes under way by Rwenzori Destiny University (RDU) Short certificate courses (three months): Tour Guiding & Nature Interpretation, Food& Bev production/service/sales, Journalism, Functional Adult literacy, Agriculture, Plumbing, Hairdressing, welding and metal fabrication, Computer studies, Carpentry & Joinery, Tailoring, Pastry and Bakery, public Admin. Languages: Lhuyira, French, English, Swahili & German: Weoffer Day, Evening, Weekend and Holiday Programmes.
We offer Bursaries and scholarshipsto some of the CELAK supporters, vulnerable and well-wishers; like CELAK Staff, Orphans, Cultural Institutions, Faith Based Organisations, people from war torn areas, Tourism based organisations, Media houses, Agro & Mining Industry and CELAK Old Students Association. Applying for bursary involves purchasing and filling Bursary application form at ug. 25,000/=, from the office of the Academic Registrar. Bursary scheme allow students to get 50% discount on tuition fees only, Scholarship is 100% discount on tuition fees only and all are open to first year students and may be retained in the second year after an annual review.
CELAK also offers Non formal education (Sometimes sponsored or self sponsored)and special courses, workshops and seminars for personnel already employed with an aim to help the staff to further their skills, knowledge and techniques in particular fields such as customer care, Horsemanship, Tour guiding, first aid, leadership, languages, entrepreneurship, food and beverages production service and sales, Front office management, accommodation , purchasing and stores, financial management, pastry and bakery.
Students taking long courses are regularly given opportunities to practically interact with customers and future employers in and outside the country in their different fields of study during their four months field attachments during internship, which is a must in addition to practical lessons in class.
Entry requirement and duration— certificate 3months to 2 years depending on the level, PLE (non-formal education) or “O’ level with good passes, Diploma 2 years “A” level with at least one principle pass or the equivalent.Purchase and fill application form and return it in person or by post or via email to the Academic registrar’s office at any of our campuses.
Co-Curricular activities: The College has a variety of co – curricular activities like foot ball, net ball, volley ball and many indoor games. Below are CELAK football and net ball clubs leaving for friendly matches with other institutions.
